This summary reports the utilization of radioactive 14-carbon 2-deoxyglucose by the ischemic brain of experimental animals that cause ischemia in the ipsilateral cerebral hemisphere following ligation of the right common carotid artery. Experimental data show that different regions of the brain responsiveness to ischemia and recovery after the situation there is a clear difference.
