The authors of this project applied advanced molecular and cytogenetics and new hematology techniques to synthesize 20 first-degree relatives of 20 leukemia patients (with or without MDS and aplastic anemia) or leukemia/tumor families and 20 pairs of patients (children). Research, combined with analysis of a large number of clinical cases, took 15 years and obtained the following research results: (1) Proposed the theoretical model of familial and sporadic leukemia and elaborated two common morbidities. (2) Clarified the two genetic factors of leukemia and multiple tumors, namely C-erbB rearrangement and non-random chromosome loss of bone marrow cells and its significance in the pathogenesis of leukemia.
