本文改进Schwarzenbach和Reilley等所用的方法,用汞电极测得多种二价金属(Hg,Cu,Pb,Zn,Cd,Mn,Ca,Mg,Sr,Ba)的乙二胺四乙酸螯合物的稳定常数,结果见表5.实验条件:t=30.0±0.1°,μ=0.1,参比电极是0.1 M Ag-AgCl电极.溶液的组分浓度是 Hg:0.001 M HgY~(2-)+0.001 MY~(4-) Cu,Pb,Zn,Cd:0.0001 MHgY~(2-)+0.01 MMeY~(2-)+0.001 MMe~(2+) Zn,Cd,Mn,Ca,Mg,Sr,Ba:0.001 M HgY~(2-)+0.001 MMeY~(2-)+0.001 MMe~(2+) Schwarzenbach主张在测试溶液中预加若干金属汞,而Reilley等则未加.本文对CaY~(2-)作加汞与不加汞的试验,证明加汞并非必要.达到平衡的时间,无论加汞与否,都为十六小时.

(2-) Mercury and mercury-free tests have shown that mercury addition is not necessary, and the time to reach equilibrium, whether or not mercury is added, is sixteen hours.
