The asymmetry of the left-handed and right-handed ellipsometric modes in a four-frequency differential laser gyro is theoretically analyzed. The effect of this asymmetry on the performance of a laser gyro is of crucial importance. The physical factor causing this asymmetry is the anisotropy of the ring cavity S-P phase and loss.
