The horse was particularly rugged and the overall technique was particularly noticeable. Later, Yang Maoyuan came to Berlin to participate in our planned group exhibition of contemporary Chinese art. We exhibited that horse. Since then Maoyuan and I became friends. Four years later I went to China to curate an exhibition in Shanghai and paid a visit to Maoyuan in Beijing to see his new work.
