Briefly described the concept of whiskers, the characteristics of gypsum whiskers; focusing on the application of gypsum whiskers as a mineral fiber in papermaking. Because gypsum whiskers are relatively short to plant fibers and have a smooth, stiff surface and lack the functional groups associated with plant fibers, many problems are encountered in the papermaking process. For these problems, what are the solutions and possible future trends.
