In this paper, we report the effects of three different enzyme inducing agents on the mutagenic metabolic activity of tobacco smoke (TS) and the effect of TS on the rupture and cumulative genotoxicity of mouse peripheral blood erythroblasts. Micronucleus experiments Seven to ten weeks old, 15 to 18 g female BDF mice, 10 in each group, were placed daily in 14 L glass-lighted containers containing 600 ml TS for 60 or 120, 180 minutes as described by Balansky (1987) The animals were sacrificed at 24 hours or 42 days after exposure to prepare a bone marrow smear. Each animal counted 1000 polychromatic erythrocytes and was taken at 24, 48 hours, 7,14, and 42 days after exposure, respectively. Barale et al. Peripheral blood smears were prepared by the method of 1985, counting per mouse
