有一种酷似红薯的水果,最近几年出现在大大小小的超市和水果摊上。当被告知是雪莲果时,总有人不甘心地说:“看上去不就是红薯吗?怎么那么像呢?”这种像极了红薯的水果,大名叫菊薯,雪莲果是它的俗称。2006～2009年,我们在四川西昌市的西郊乡和川贝镇,对近几年从云南引进的地下水果之王——菊薯的栽培和市场销售等进行了系统的观察研究与社会调查。
