初、高中历史教学为什么需要衔接?从根本上说,这是由历史学科本身的整体性、系统性和初、高中新课改精神的一致性决定的。初中历史教育的现状不容乐观,给高中新课改和具体教学呈现的是一锅“夹生饭”。重视初、高中教学的衔接问题是尊重教育工作的规律和加快学生转变学习方式与策略的现实需要。新课程改革是一项复杂系统的工程,是一场彻底改变课堂面貌的教学革命,搞好初、高中教学衔接工作只是新课改千头万绪工作中的一部分,但却是必不可少的一环。
