占全省七大农业区之一的滇东北,一是纬度和海拔都比较高;二是人口密度大(143人/公里_2);三是旱地特多(占本区总耕地的87.5%,仅次于滇西北),水田特少(人均占有水田仅0.15亩)。本区主食绝大多数是包谷,不少地方单食洋芋或燕麦。随着人民生活的逐步好转,对改变粮食结构,粗粮变细粮的要求比任何地区都更迫切;利用早地生产大米的愿望成为人民群众积极发展陆稻的动力。
Accounting for one of the seven major agricultural areas in the province of northeast Yunnan, one is relatively high latitude and altitude; the second is the population density (143 people / km2); third dry land is particularly large (accounting for 87.5% , Second only to the northwestern Yunnan), little paddy fields (per capita possession of paddy fields only 0.15 acres).
