关于主题思想导演找主题与评论家或一般读者对主题的分析,应该是有所不同的。因为导演是要通过二度创作,和所有演、职员一起把文学剧本变成舞台行动。这就需要用最简练的句子,用尽可能形象化、动作化的语言把主题思想提炼出来,使导演自己和所有舞台行动的创作者能够闻之而动。我国著名戏剧家黄佐临曾说:“找主题是一个导演最基本最基本的基本功。”还说在他一生导演过的七十多出戏剧中,只有“难得的几次”是找得准确、得当的。斯坦尼斯拉夫斯基在《论最高任务》中也指出:“要进行多少次瞄准和射击之后,才能命中目标!”可见,导演找主题并不是轻而易举的。
