(January 12, 1957) What is the most democratic bourgeois dictatorship or is it the most democratic proletarian dictatorship? We think that proletarian dictatorship is the most democratic. Any dictatorship of democracy has its limitations. The bourgeoisie has both dictatorship and democracy. It is bourgeois democracy. The United States will not allow journalists to come to China and persecute progressives. This is the democracy of the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie. Their democracy changes according to the degree of the revolutionary movement of the working class and the working people. They can be a little wider when the sport is less detrimental to them; they make it a little less when the movement is detrimental to maintaining bourgeois rule. The dictatorship of the proletariat is the dictatorship of the proletariat over the minority anti-revolutionary elements led by the general public (including the bourgeoisie), while the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie is the dictatorship of the minorities over the majority.
