经过较长时间的生产实践，我们对两脚塔的结构、强度、搬迁、安装、使用等方面都积累了不少经验。近年来，为了满足人造金刚石钻进工艺的要求，冶金部地质局决定定型推广YL型油压钻机系列。为此，我们在两脚钻塔的基础上，专为YL型钻机设计了“独脚钻塔”，其重量只有两脚钻塔的二分之一，去年一季度在中南冶勘公司六○四队加工并在丰山矿区作生产性试验。试验表明，达到了设计目的，满足了YL型钻机施工直斜钻孔的需要。
After a long period of production practice, we have accumulated a lot of experience in the structure, strength, relocation, installation and use of the two-legged towers.
