We were taught by the United States to teach English in China. In late August 1992, I came to Beijing and spent about a week in Beijing. Then I took the school to pick up our caravan and arrived at the lovely Liaocheng. Before you teach, it is wise to walk rather than ride a bike to see the city because it is the best way to see a place so it does not miss out on anything useful or of value to you. I see two very good department stores to meet people’s everyday needs. Luxurious hotels abound, serving North and South dishes, but Cantonese cuisine is not so popular in the North. We often eat noodles (which is exactly what I intended), not rice. In the Old Quarter, a modern expansion is underway and many restaurants are elegant and clean, where roast duck and sturgeon can be enjoyed. Chicken is a must have dish on the table. “Strange flavor chicken ” Really a bit American flavor, where the size of children’s playground quite like a small Disneyland.
