杨尧属于新中国的美术学院培养的学生(含附中)——他们是在那个特殊年代的社会政治氛围与思想教育中成长起来的一代人。“文革”期间他被派往参加一些展览、纪念馆的筹展与绘制工作,创作了一些“红光亮”题材作品。此后又乘着这股潮流,延续这类创作活动一直到1978年回归教学。然而,由于对历史人物题材的把握与塑造不是他的所长,于是他后来转到饶有兴趣的风景题材创作上来。80年代到90年初,他创作了《梯》《赤土》
Yang Yao belongs to the students (including middle school) trained by the Fine Arts Academy of New China - they are the generation that grew up in the social and political atmosphere and ideological education of that particular era. During the “Cultural Revolution”, he was sent to participate in some exhibitions, memorial exhibition and drawing work, creating some “red light” theme works.
