介电分离矿物的可能性,最初是由H.S.哈特费路德提出的。其他研究者也曾作了试验考察。混合矿物在仪器中的分离试验过程,基本上据哈特费路德的理论。曾指明,矿物介电常数小于液体介电常数时,产生的电极斥力,比对介电常数大的吸力为强。在对发生在静电场并作用于矿粒上的有质动力进行分析之后,也得到了类似的结论。有质动力值由下式确定:
The possibility of dielectric separation of minerals was first proposed by H.S. Hartley Luther. Other researchers have also made a test study. The process of separation of mixed minerals in the instrumentation is based essentially on the theory of Hartfeld Luther. It has been shown that when the dielectric constant of the mineral is less than the dielectric constant of the liquid, the repulsive force of the electrode produced is stronger than that of the dielectric constant. A similar conclusion has been reached after the analysis of the dynamical forces that occur in the electrostatic field and act on the ore particles. The qualitative power value is given by:
