蛟河市位于吉林省东部,长白山西麓,松花湖畔。全市林业经营总面积45.56万公顷,活立木总蓄积量2849万立方米,森林覆盖率58.5%,是吉林省重点林区之一。林业经济曾是蛟河市的支柱产业,为地方经济发展做出了很大贡献。然而,在世纪之交,蛟河林业遇到了重大危机,由于多年的过量无序采伐,资源枯竭,经济濒临崩溃,年最高亏损额达2000余万元。据统计,2000年蛟河林业局总负债2.1
Jiaohe City is located in the eastern part of Jilin Province, Changbai Mountain West, Songhua Lake. The total area of forest management in the city is 455,600 hectares. The total volume of live standing trees is 28.49 million cubic meters with the forest coverage rate of 58.5%. It is one of the key forest areas in Jilin Province. Forestry economy was a pillar industry in Jiaohe City, which made a great contribution to the development of local economy. However, at the turn of the century, Jiaohe Forestry encountered a major crisis. Due to years of excessive disorderly logging and depletion of resources, the economy was on the brink of collapse with an annual maximum loss of more than 20 million yuan.
