相干光纤通信研究和开发的加速进行,其主要原因在于接收器灵敏度的改善已能达到20dB,部分原因在于能够在很好的频率分隔下实施频分多路复用(FDM)。本文旨在评述相干光纤通信系统研究的最近进展,重点评述最近两年的进展情况。迄今报导的误码率测量方法分下列四类加以研讨:PCM-ASK(脉码调制-振幅移位键控)、PCM-FSK(脉码调制-频移键控)、PCM-PSK脉码调制-相移键控)和PCM-DPSK(脉码调制-微分相移键控)。同时还讨论了偏振稳态技术的目前工艺水平。
Research and development of coherent optical fiber communications is accelerating mainly due to the receiver sensitivity improvements of up to 20dB, in part because of the ability to implement frequency division multiplexing (FDM) with good frequency separation. This article aims to review recent advances in the research of coherent optical fiber communication systems, highlighting the progress of the last two years. The error rate measurement methods reported so far have been studied in the following four categories: PCM-ASK (Pulse Code Modulation-Amplitude Shift Keying), PCM-FSK (Pulse Code Modulation-Frequency Shift Keying), PCM-PSK Pulse Code Modulation - Phase Shift Keying) and PCM-DPSK (Pulse Code Modulation - Differential Phase Shift Keying). The current state of the art of polarization steady-state technology is also discussed.
