In Europe, low-power lasers have been used for acupuncture treatments for nearly 15 years. In the United States, the application of laser acupuncture has only become popular in recent years. In order to reduce acute and chronic pain and improve tissue health, we applied a 1 milliwatt laser for clinical treatment. Through our clinical experience, lasers have great potential for physical therapy. The laser can get a positive physiological response. When a laser beam hits the surface of the skin, general physiological phenomena occur, including reflection, absorption, and diffusion. Absorption of laser light by human tissue is very good. The skin absorbs 99% of the laser radiation. If you radiate in a dehydrated tissue area, the absorption rate can reach 100%.
