强介电性液晶(FLC)具有自发极化(效应)和记忆性。自发极化可使液晶分子实现快速响应;记忆性则与高精密显示器性能有关。若再赋予另一特征,提高灰度显示功能,则强介电性液晶的用途可望拓展至工作站和彩电领域。
Ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) has spontaneous polarization (effect) and memory. Spontaneous polarization enables fast response of liquid crystal molecules; memory is associated with high-precision display performance. If we give another feature to improve the gray-scale display, then the use of ferroelectric liquid crystal is expected to be extended to the field of workstations and color TV.
