Gaoyou Lake wind farm project is located in the northeast of Tianchang City, northeast of Gaoyou Lake, east of Qinlan River, south of Yang Lake. In August 2011, one of the largest cranes in China, the SAC12000 1200t, was hoisted to the shore of Gaoyou Lake to start installation. The length of this generator set was 51.3 meters and 80 meters high. It is the longest and the largest body of a generator set in China Fan.
