The GIGATOP 4-pole turbo-generator is a half-speed engine designed for all types of steam turbines in nuclear power plants. The first 1800 MW generator for the EPR nuclear reactor was designed by Alstom (OEM) for use on the # 3 machine at the Flamanville nuclear power plant in France. This is a new model that will be the basis for the further development of 50Hz, EPR or similar units. The generator was shipped after the full type test was completed in the factory.
