In this paper, we use the simple approximation of gravity to evaluate the possible effect of gravity on the stability of deep circular tunnels in elastic-plastic model. The conditions for the stability of a linerless tunnel are set in a homogeneous rock with a tunnel radius of a and a depth of h. The physical and mechanical properties of rock: the proportion of γ, uniaxial compressive strength q, friction angle φ. The on-site stress is assumed to be hydrostatic pressure, where the magnitude of the tunnel is P_o = γh. A simple way to consider the weight of rock in deep tunnels in the elasto-plastic model is to introduce gravity into the plastic
