Endoscopic stent placement for esophageal cancer patients can significantly improve the quality of life of patients. Among the many manufacturers of metal stents, domestic stents are favored by people because of their advantages of low price and easy operation. However, domestically-made stents use slide-type pushers, which sometimes shift during placement. From March to December 1997, the author adopted a method of in vitro positioning. A total of 13 patients with advanced esophageal cancer were placed with metal stents by endoscopy.
