盘壳栎(Cyclobalanopsis patelliformis Chun.)是我国海南岛热带原始林中的高大乔木之一。树干高大并较通直,材质坚硬而耐腐,为建筑和民用造船等的主要用材树种之一。盘壳栎的种子种粒较大(120—140粒/公斤),发芽率高(90%左右)。苗木的主根发达,侧根细少,苗期生长较快,是尖峰岭林区采伐迹地更新的重要树种。由于根系不发达,苗木造林成活率低,适于直播造林。又由于种子成熟于12月至翌年1月,时值海南岛早季来临,种子又易变质,不能久放,必须及时播种。而幼苗出土后要经受几个月的漫长旱季,造林能否成功,取决于当年的气候条件,若旱季期间有些小雨,或雨季来得较早,则造林成活率稍高,但也不很理想。根据调查的结果,大面积直播造林成活率都低于40%。因此必须年复一年地补播,几年才能补齐。这样不但浪费人力、物力、而且影响着林业生产的发展。我们于1975年试图把盘壳栎种子贮藏到雨季来到时再进行直播造林,以免除第一年的旱季威胁。试验结果较为成功,并对贮藏后的种子,经过一定的催芽措施,促成苗木根系发达,有利于育苗造林。现将试验结果介绍如下。

Trunk tall and more straight, hard and decay-resistant materials, construction and civil shipbuilding, one of the main timber species. The oak shell seed seeds larger (120-140 / kg), germination rate (90% or so). Developed seedling root, lateral root subtle, rapid growth in seedling, is an important species of regeneration in Jianfengling area deforestation. As the root system is underdeveloped, seedling afforestation survival rate is low, suitable for direct seeding afforestation. And because the seeds mature in December to January the following year, when the early arrival of Hainan Island, the seeds are perishable and can not be put for a long time and must be planted in time. The success of afforestation depends on the current climatic conditions. If the light rain during the dry season or earlier rainy season, afforestation survival rate slightly higher, but not ideal. According to the survey results, large-scale live afforestation survival rate of less than 40%. Therefore, it must be supplemented year after year and filled up only in a few years. This will not only waste manpower and material resources, but also affect the development of forestry production. We tried afforestation by direct seeding in 1975 when we tried to store the seeds of the genus Pinus in the rainy season to avoid the threat of the first year’s dry season. The result of the experiment is more successful. After the seeds have been stored, some germination measures can promote the seedling root system developed, which is good for nursery and afforestation. Now the test results are as follows.
