Creating new materials of germplasm resources is of great significance for accelerating the research of wheat genetic improvement. 60Co γ-rays were used to irradiate callus of wheat immature embryos at a dose of 5-30 Gy, and their biological effects were studied. The results showed that irradiation treatment had a great effect on the differentiation of wheat immature embryos. With the increase of irradiation dose, the differentiation rate of callus gradually decreased. Morphological traits such as leaves, stems, plant type and panicle were mutated in the M2 generation segregation population. Mutants with physiological traits such as growth period were also obtained. These mutant materials provide good basic materials for the breeding of new wheat varieties and their functional genomics.
