廣州市中等學校物理教師自從經過了思想改造運動、教學改革和蘇聯先進教學方法的學習以後,對人民教育事業的認識和工作積極性大大提高,更由於鑽研教材的結果,對物理教學中的直觀性原則也有了較深刻的體會虼思娂娫谡n餘自己動手製作儀器教具,解決了直觀教學上的許多困難,並為國家節省了一筆可觀的儀器購置費用。中國物理學會廣州分會、廣東科學技術普及協會及中國教育工會廣州市委員會,為了進一步交流與推廣教師們製作儀器的經驗和鞏固教師們辛勤勞動的成果,決定聯合舉辦廣州市中等學校自製物理儀器展覽會。在黨與政府的鼓勵,全市物理教師的熱烈支持下,展覽會於八月九日勝利開幕。這次展覽會展出的儀器共一百四十餘件,八十餘種,是從各蠯蛠碚钩龅亩俣嗉x器中精選出來的渲邪W、熱學、分子物理學、聲學、電磁學、光學等部分,此外還有一部分高等學校自制的精密儀器和近代物理學演示教具。
