休斯飞机公司电子动力部研制出一种实验型周期永磁聚焦耦合腔行波管。在中心频率12,080千兆赫,在85兆赫频带内,其连续波高频输出功率为235~250瓦。图1示出了该种行波管的照片。其基本效率大于30%,在中频带为33%。运用十级(9个降压元件)降压收集极和作用过的电子注再聚焦段获得的总效率大于50%,这种再聚焦段是在NASA Lewis研究中心设计的。收集极进行辐射冷却。
Hughes Aircraft Electric Power Division developed an experimental cyclical PM focusing coupled cavity TWT. At a center frequency of 12,080 GHz, the CW HF output power is 235-250 watts in the 85 MHz band. Figure 1 shows a photo of such a traveling wave tube. Its basic efficiency is greater than 30%, in the mid-band is 33%. The total efficiency achieved with a Class 10 (9 step-down element) step-down collector and an active electron beam refocusing segment is greater than 50% and was designed at the NASA Lewis Research Center.
