In recent years, the importance of booth design has been drawing attention from exhibitors. How to make for an excellent booth at exhibitions? Overseas Exhibitions magazine interviewed Mr. Baolin Wang, Vice President and Design Director of Beijing Tianyijinyuan International Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Most Innovative Designer of 2015 “Creative China”Chinese Exhibition Design Contest.
As a veteran designer, Mr. Wang thinks that, at exhibitions, exhibitors are not only exhibiting products, but also success opportunities, and the biggest feature of leading exhibitions is that they showcase the latest trends within the industry. Therefore, designers must go beyond the surface to grasp the trends of the industry of the perspective exhibition, and then create artistic and business atmosphere for visitors to utilize their multiple senses to understand the content at the booth.
In this sense, Mr. Wang thinks that the design of exhibition halls is a very visualized way of marketing, the designers are encouraged to combine pictures and words to attract target visitors. In design, Mr. Wang tries his best to embody the core advantage and brand values of his customers so that visitors can gain a visual impression of the brands.
Also as an expert in artistic design, Mr. Wang thinks that in comparison with artistic design, which mainly delivers cultural features, business design emphasis more on distinct colors and formats, so as to arouse the purchase desires of trade fair visitors.
Mr. Wang has spent more than ten years as a designer, and he observed the evolution of booth design in terms of technology and customer preference. He said that as an emerging industry, booth design has been developing rapidly and also has changed a lot. In the past, exhibitors preferred booth that showcased company image, while nowadays they focus more on practical applicability. In recent years, competition within the exhibition industry has been fierce, and this has forced design companies to develop their unique competitive edge. In booth design, the use of scientific technology, especially digital technology is more and more popular. In the future, Mr. Wang intends to work strenuously with his team to build more excellent booth for Chinese exhibitors at international trade fairs.
