2010年7月27日,经过三年的跳票和等待,《星际争霸2》终于发售。在发售后48小时之内,这款游戏就卖出了150万套。尽管由于审批等原因,《星际争霸2》并没有在中国大陆发售,但这并不影响大陆玩家对于这款游戏的期待。这些期待中,除了暴雪出品必属精品,另外就是希望星际2能重振电子竞技(尽管大家都很难想清楚什么叫重振),让电子竞技有一个长足的发展,甚至很多人认为《星际争霸2》是电子竞技的救世主。
July 27, 2010, after three years of bounce and wait, “StarCraft 2” finally on sale. Within 48 hours of release, this game sold 1.5 million units. Although due to approval and other reasons, “StarCraft 2” is not available in mainland China, but this does not affect the mainland players for the game’s expectations.
