During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, Binzhou City, Shandong Province, issued a series of patent subsidy policies, accumulating a total of 1,374,700 yuan of funds and subsidizing 2544 patents (applications), greatly arousing the enthusiasm of enterprises and institutions in their inventions and creations. The number of patent applications in the city increased from 288 in 2005 to 2,124 in 2010, an average annual increase of 49.13%.
