Discoidin domain receptor tyrosine kinases (DDRs) are a class of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), which are found in mammals, DDR1 and DDR2 . They are expressed in many tissues, and DDR1 is upregulated in some tumor tissues. DDRs have two major structural features: one is a discoidin region (DR) in the extracellular region, and the other is a long just transmembrane region (JR) in the extracellular region. A variety of collagen are their ligands. The combination of collagen and DDRs delays and persists phosphorylation of DDRs, and the binding of collagen to DDR2 can up-regulate the expression of MMP-1
