在大兴安岭西南麓中蒙边界536号界碑处,有一座海拔1503.3米的山,名字叫老头山,山上有一座森林防火瞭望哨,哨所里常年驻守着六名武警森林兵。哨所的周围,是一望无际的大森林。战士们的任务是:观察、瞭望、预报境内森林草原火情,监视蒙古火入境。常言道,卖啥吆喝啥。战士们有句顺口溜:“来到老头山,先把眼睛练,再过寂寞关,才算男子汉。”哨所旁最显眼的地方,矗立着战士们自制的六个大字:“练好眼,护绿色。”
