An innovative scheme of a steel-concrete composite beam high-speed railway bridge is presented. The design of the scheme focuses on the typical double girder scheme, but the double girder is modified so that it has the bearing capacity of the box girder. The dual combination of negative bends is applied to the full length of the bridge to provide the bridge with the required torsional stiffness sufficient to control the dynamic response of the railway vehicle when it is driven eccentrically on a line on the bridge. In addition, some of the areas of concern for engineers such as specific details to improve anti-centering load of webs and some design aspects related to earthquake resistance are also introduced.
