创作的冲动与构思2005年从中国美协得到消息,要启动国家重大历史题材美术创作工程,拟用1840年至今的100个重大历史事件做题目,以一个时代之力,在中国文化万里长城中垒起一座高高的烽火台。此时我心里那理想之火又被重新点燃,是否能成为此项工程中的作者并不重要,关键是我又有了一线希望,年轻时的那份艺术理想,国家、大众和社会还是需要的,还没有完全过时。《圆明园劫难》是这百个题目之一。其固有的火与血的猩红,却是最有视觉震撼力的,是我最魂牵梦绕的题目。
