事物的新陈代谢,干部队伍的新老交替,是不可抗拒的自然规律。要使老一辈无产阶级革命家开创的事业世代相传,必须不断培养和造就千百万社会主义事业的可靠接班人。当前,我们的干部队伍,正处在新老交替的关键时刻,建国前和建国初期参加革命工作的老干部大多数已经或接近离、退休。中青年干部已占整个干部队伍的70%左右,再过十年、二十年,他们将无可替代地成为新一代接班人。近年来,国际风云变幻,西方敌对势力加紧推行和平演变战略。千方百计地和我们争夺青年一代,国内资产阶级自由化思潮也遥相呼应。因此,培养接班人的任务更加严峻、更加紧迫。
The metabolism of things, the replacement of cadres of the old and new, is an irresistible law of nature. To make the cause pioneered by the proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation spread from generation to generation, we must continually cultivate and bring along credible successors to the cause of millions of socialism. At present, our contingent of cadres is in the crucial moment when the old and new people alternate. Most of the veteran cadres who participated in the revolutionary work before the founding of the People’s Republic and at the founding of the People’s Republic of China were mostly at or near their retirement. Young and middle-aged cadres have accounted for about 70% of the entire cadre ranks. In another decade or two, they will irreplaceably become the next generation of successors. In recent years, with the changing international situation, the western hostile forces have stepped up the peaceful evolution strategy. Do everything possible to compete with us for the younger generation and the domestic bourgeois liberalization trend also echoes. Therefore, the task of training successors is even more serious and urgent.
