只要是行走在藏区,随处可见飘扬着的印有经文的风马旗。最初,人们只是将动物的毛发系挂于树枝让它们随风飘飞,现在则多是由布代替,偶尔也会用丝绸。“五色风马”的五色分别为白、黄、红、绿、蓝,图案多为宝马背驮佛、法、僧,周围则是大鹏金翅鸟、龙、狮、虎等动物环绕,代表金、木、水、火、土五行,寓意生命轮回经久不息。“五色风马”主要用于悬挂,地点不同,则又有不同的含义,惟一不变的是吉祥的寓意。
