【Abstract】In the study of translation between Chinese and English，it is essential to highlight the purpose of mediating and compromising the contradictions resulted by the cultural difference between English and Chinese，then to ensure the full and correct transmission of information accepted by readers.

In the process of cross-cultural and bilingual communication， the use of fuzzy language has practical significance to the translating work.The strategy of domestication is to use fuzzy expression in the source language to replace the fuzzy expression in the target language.When the fuzzy language in the source language can not be understood by the readers in the target language，that is，some expressions in the source language have no equivalent fuzzy expressions in the target language，it’s correct to choose acceptable translation strategies to meet the need of people in the target language.For instance，in Chinese，some fuzzy expression of adjectives like 比较，一般，稍微，好与坏，美与丑，善与恶 and the words of the four seasons have no exact upper limit and lower limit.In translation，translator use fuzzy language to translate the exact word in the source language.
There is another strategy of translation that is called cultural substitutional translation.It is a special kind of method to translate the special cultural meaning in the source language into a corresponding word in the target language This word should have the same description of the source language to the readers in the target language.The advantage of this strategy is that readers can understand the original words better.The more the distinct cultural difference between the source and target language，the more adjustment should be done.
No matter what domesticating translation or foreignzing translation，we can conclude that culture hold the balance.Foreignizing translation pursue the original language and the cultural characteristics，satisfy the feeling of strange.During the debate of the domesticating translation and foreignizing translation，some learners contact it with the relation between literal and free translation.
