面对我国改革开放的形势不断深入发展,面对未来世界的科学、技术、文化和经济发展的需要和挑战,培养什么样的人才作为一个很尖锐而现实的问题摆在我们的面前。国家教委启动了“面向21世纪课程体系与教学内容改革项目”,把大学英语的改革正式提到议事日程,受到了社会各界的广泛关注。 大学英语教学从无到有,发展很快,对我国的人才培养发挥了不可低估的作用。但是也必须看到我国大学英语教学中还普遍存在着不少问题。学生的英语运用能力差,“哑巴英语”,“高分低能”之类的评论成了社会议论的热点。面对社会的各种议论,我们每一个教育工作者都应进行积极认真的思考,找出问题的主要症结所在,并加以改正,把教学改革真正落到实处。当前,解决“高分低能”的问题是英语教学改革的当务之急。
Faced with the deepening development of China’s reform and opening up and facing the needs and challenges of the scientific, technological, cultural and economic development of the world in the future, it is imperative to cultivate what kind of talents as a very sharp and realistic issue for us. The State Education Commission launched the “21st Century Curriculum Reform and Teaching Content Reform Project”, formally referred to the reform of College English agenda, has been widely concerned by all sectors of society. College English teaching from scratch, developed rapidly, to our talent training played a role that can not be underestimated. However, we must also see that there are still many problems in our college English teaching. Students’ ability to use English is poor, and comments such as “dumb English” and “high scores and low scores” have become hot topics in the society. In the face of various kinds of discussion in the society, every educator of our country should think positively and seriously, identify the main crux of the problem, and correct it, so that the teaching reform can truly be implemented. At present, the solution to the problem of “high scores and low energy” is the top priority of English teaching reform.
