The contemporary American poet Robert Hass (1941-) is good at using poetry to depict the natural magnificence and subtle individual experience, discovering amazing aesthetics from seemingly ordinary people and things. In 2012, Haas published his essay “What Light Can Do: Essays on Art, Imagination, and theNatural, World.” He collected more than two decades of literary criticism from nearly 500 pages. In fact, Haas published the essay is not the first time. In 1984, a “Twentieth Century Joy: Poetry Review Collection” won the National Book Award. After nearly three decades, Haas once again let people hear his wise and sensitive voice.
