Translation and creation of Chinese and English poetry are not easy. To write and translate poems well requires not only translators and poets themselves to have a solid foundation of literary skills, but also high demands on the cultural background of translators and poets and the need to be able to switch between Chinese and foreign literature and culture. Even so, especially in the field of poetry translation, it is sometimes still difficult to translate poetry into both the original and the domestic reader’s understanding and acceptance, sometimes because of differences in language, culture and background. In addition, poetry is more concise writing, which puts forward higher requirements on the translator’s translation level and is an important subject worthy of further study in the comparative poetics system.
