This paper describes the basic situation and existing problems of the outer protective tube for hot metal temperature measurement, and points out that the key problem to be solved is the corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance of the outer protective tube. Al_2O_3-based ceramic material is the best choice for the manufacture of protective tube.
