1937年11月叶挺军长、项英副军长到延安向毛泽东主席、中央军委请求为组建新四军配备司、政、后勤等机关全套干部,中央军委决定从军委机关和抗大总校抽调一批经过长征的干部,我有幸成为其中之一。我们这批人中有担任新四军副参谋长的周子昆、军政治部主任的袁国平等,以及几位地方工作干部,一共60多人。12月20日,我们一行人从延安出发,经西安、汉口,于1938年元旦那天到达南昌。我们一到就投入了紧张的工作。
