The Ming Dynasty follows the northeast post route opened by the Liao, Jin and Yuan ancient roads, which not only strengthened the domination and jurisdiction over the Northeast area by the Central Government of the Ming Dynasty, but also played an important role in promoting trade in Northeast Asia. The Jurchen businessman who travels to and fro the northeast post road is made up of the chiefs of the Jurchen ministries. Although different from ordinary traders, their position is very important in the communication of the Central Plains with the Northeast and even Northeast Asia. . Due to the existence of the Jurchen merchants, the silk in Central Plains was able to flow to most parts of Northeast Asia such as North Korea and Japan, making this postal road a veritable Silk Road between Ming China and Northeast Asia.
