Different ways of thinking, language structure and cultural differences among different ethnic groups have become obstacles in the translation among different languages, that is, the limits of translatability in translation have been formed. Any linguistic phenomenon is basically translatable, there is no non-translatability, the untranslatability of translation is relative, and the translatability can be translated into translatability if the objective conditions are available. Compensation is an effective way to translate the phenomenon of translatability, and the translation method that is closest to the original text effect is selected among all possible translation methods so that the translated text can achieve the same effect as the original text. This article takes Lu Xun’s short story “Medicine” and Japanese translation of Inoue Hong as an example to analyze the translatability and countermeasure of translation.
