湖泊沉积在空间分布上存在较大差异.为了能够更好地对比湖泊中的同时期地层,对内蒙古黄旗海远源和近源两个位置采集的沉积物剖面进行了岩性、矿物以及岩石磁学对比研究.研究结果表明,相对于岩性、矿物成分和含量,主要与极细的超顺磁颗粒含量相关的磁性参数(xfd)在两个剖面中具有较好的对比性;而主要与磁性矿物类型和含量相关的磁性参数,如质量磁化率(x)和饱和等温剩磁(SIRM)等,对比性较差.这可能是因为超顺磁矿物主要形成于成壤或成岩作用,而这些作用与环境变化密切相关,因此能排除局部物源变化影响在整个湖泊范围内进行对比.通过对比分析表明,湖心、湖滨两个沉积剖面可以分为三段,这三段与前人利用其他环境指示参数分析得出的结果具有较好的对比性.
