随着我国大学英语教学改革的深入推进,其目标得以重新定位,教学质量也随之提高。但西北民族地区的大学英语教学,大多停留在以语言技能为核心的“语言驱动”教学模式上,远不能满足当下民族地区外语人才的培养需要,也不能适应眼下不同民族文化发展的诉求。因此,我国西北民族地区大学英语教学需要“语言驱动模式”、“内容驱动模式”双轮驱动,提高学生语言交际能力与综合文化素养,并培育其传承、创新民族文化、容纳他文化形成跨文化交际的能力,是促进西北民族地区大学英语教学改革的必经之途。
