2004年10月,陕西省考古研究所在西安市南郊曲江池村北的翠竹园二期工地发掘了一座小型唐墓,随葬品与骨骼因盗掘而荡然无存,仅在墓室内发现一方石质墓志。现将志石作以介绍,并对志文进行简要考释。志为青石质,正方形,边长44厘米,盖佚。志身四侧阴线刻十二生肖,每侧三个,皆兽首、人身、袍服,呈坐姿。刻线细腻流畅,残缺较多,大多不可辨识。志文楷书,23行,满行24字,无界格,全文400余字。志石右下角及左中部略残。此志书法端庄秀丽,结构严整,属墓志书法中的上品。志主姚应之夫人、姚应之、撰者郑宁一、刻石者曲武均不见于史籍。现将志文转录如下:
In October 2004, Shaanxi Provincial Institute of Archeology unearthed a small Tang Tombs site in the second phase of Tsui Chuk Yuen Estate in the northern part of Qujiang Chi Village in the southern suburbs of Xi’an.
