地区经济发展失衡与社会不稳定,不利于民族间关系的和睦团结,还可弱化一个国家或地区的整体经济再生能力与发展。现今,我国地区经济发展的严重失衡以及影响社会不稳定的因素长期存在,这使国家面临较以往更为严峻的考验。因此,对西部民族地区社会稳定的评估及影响因素的研究,对维护国家发展、领土完整与边疆稳定、客观评估我国西部民族地区社会稳定状况、维护地区稳定与发展有着重要的意义。
