Time: May 2008 Venue: Tiexi District, a bar in the 798 Art District Zhang Ya-xuan: So far you have completed four works. Two documentaries, one short film, one movie installation. In addition to the final installation, all other works involve a common theme, namely, history and memory. “Tiexi District” refers to the disappearance of an era and the overthrow of a world; “Fengming” is a woman’s oral history, a living witness and living testimony provided by survivors.
